The Vampire Facial® — officially known as the PRP Microneedling Facial — is one of the most effective non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments available. By combining the collagen-stimulating power of microneedling with the regenerative growth factors of PRP, it produces results that neither treatment can achieve alone. Here's everything you need to know.
What Is the Vampire Facial®?
The Vampire Facial® is a two-part treatment that combines microneedling with the topical application of PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma). Microneedling creates thousands of microscopic channels in the skin, which serve two purposes: they stimulate the skin's own wound-healing response (triggering collagen production), and they create pathways for PRP to penetrate deeply into the dermis — far deeper than topical application alone could achieve.
The Treatment Process
- Blood draw: A small amount of blood is drawn and processed to prepare your PRP
- Topical numbing: A numbing cream is applied for 30–45 minutes to ensure comfort
- Microneedling: A medical-grade microneedling device creates controlled micro-injuries across the treatment area
- PRP application: Your PRP is applied to the skin immediately following microneedling, penetrating through the micro-channels into the dermis
- Total treatment time: Approximately 60–90 minutes
What Does It Treat?
The Vampire Facial® is highly effective for a wide range of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation, acne scars and textural irregularities, enlarged pores, sun damage and photoaging, dull or fatigued-looking skin, and early signs of skin laxity.
What to Expect: Recovery and Results
Immediately following treatment, the skin will appear red and flushed — similar to a moderate sunburn. This typically resolves within 24–48 hours. Some patients experience mild peeling or flaking in the days following treatment as the skin renews itself.
Results develop gradually as collagen synthesis increases. Most patients notice initial improvements in skin texture and radiance within 2–4 weeks. Significant rejuvenation — including visible improvement in fine lines, tone, and texture — typically develops over 3–6 months. A series of 3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.
Vampire Facial® vs. Vampire Facelift®
The Vampire Facial® (PRP + microneedling) focuses on surface skin quality — texture, tone, fine lines, and radiance. The Vampire Facelift® (PRP + hyaluronic acid filler) addresses structural concerns — volume loss, facial contour, and deeper folds. Many patients benefit from both, and they can be performed in combination for comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
